Rashok

Tanks

Healers

  • Having an extra healer on this fight can be helpful due to the high damage Rashok brings.
  • The intermission is the highest damage in the entire raid. Using healer cooldowns here is essential.
  • Doom Circles deals heavy damage and leaves a powerful DoT to anyone that soaks them.
  • Searing Slam deals more damage each time it is cast.

DPS

  • Rashok is a completely single target fight.
  • Use Heroism/Bloodlust at the start of the fight to ensure everyone’s cooldowns are ready.

Main Phase

Rashok is a DPS race with a lot of raid healing needed the entire fight. Start by positioning him on one side of the room. He should never cross the middle platform until he is near 100 energy as doing so will cause him to begin the intermission early, however the tanks should make sure they allow time to move him to the centre. A good time to move him is straight after he casts Shadowlava Blast.
Rashok will periodically target a player with Searing Slam and after 5 seconds he will leap into them, slamming the ground causing heavy damage to them and leaving a Lava Vortex in that position. This will stay for the whole fight and pour out Lava Wave‘s every few seconds. If any two Searing Slam‘s touch, or a Searing Slam hits the centre platform, the raid will wipe, so making sure to put them around the edges of the room, leaving enough space in between them, while not having them all over the place is key to beating this fight.
Rashok will shoot Doom Flames towards the floor in several locations, these will always need one player in them to soak the damage. It leaves a nasty DoT on them that healers should be vigilant with. Missing a Doom Flame will deal massive damage to the entire raid so these should always be priority. As he can send these quite far out, melee should focus on the close ones and the range should grab the ones further out, leaving healers to focus on keeping the group alive. The rest of the group should try to keep close together and use defensives and healer cooldowns here if you have enough spare keeping the intermission in mind.
Rashok will also use Charged Smash on his current target. This is a large player soak that increases the energy he gains based on the number of players missing from it when it strikes. Because of this, all players in the raid should be inside this soak. This leaves a debuff that needs healing through.
When Rashok reaches 90 energy, which is always after he’s used his third Searing Slam, he will target a random player and start casting Shadowlava Blast. This is a deadly purple frontal cone that extends very far, so ideally players should run close to him as soon as possible after he leaps, allowing you to run out of this frontal attack much easier.
Right after this frontal cone, the current tank should move the boss to the middle platform. He can melee from quite a distance so make sure the tank moves a few steps past the middle. He must reach the centre before he reaches 100 energy or the group will wipe. Doing this will start the intermission.

Intermission

Rashok will begin to pulse with energy while he charges down in the centre. dealing massive raid wide damage. During this time, all players should try to group together to make healing and defensive usage more effective. There will be several lines of swirls shooting out from the centre to avoid, and the damage builds up over time due to the Scorched Flesh debuff players receive. Once his energy is drained, the main phase will repeat. Rashok can only have his energy drained 2 times before he breaks the centre platform, making this a DPS race to the end.

Glossary

Searing Slam

Rashok leaps towards his target after 5 seconds and smashes the ground, dealing deadly damage to anyone he hits along with heavy damage to all players. This leaves a Lava Vortex that spews Lava Waves periodically.

Lava Vortex

A lava puddle left behind after every Searing Slam that deals heavy fire damage every 2 seconds. If any two of these overlap, or hit the centre console the raid will wipe. These periodically spew out Lava Waves.

Lava Waves

Lava Explosion

If any two Lava Vortex‘s touch, they explode on the whole raid for deadly damage.

Shadowlava Blast

A frontal cone blast of Shadowflame dealing deadly damage to anyone it hits. Rashok always casts this at 90 energy.

Charged Smash

Rashok charges a large ground smash onto his current target that will deal deadly damage, split between all players that soak the attack. This will give everyone hit the Overcharged debuff and give Rashok energy based on the number of players missing from the soak.

Ancient Fury

If Rashok reaches 100 energy, he can no longer have his energy drained by the centre platform and pulses deadly damage every second until everyone dies.

Doom Flames

Rashok shoots several fireballs towards the floor that require a player to soak them. Each soak deals moderate fire damage to anyone hit along with an 8 second debuff dealing moderate fire damage every second. This effect stacks. If no body soaks Doom Flames, the entire raid will take massive damage instead.

Earthen Crush

Deals massive physical damage to his current target, increasing the damage taken from any additional Earthen Crush‘s by 3000% for 6 seconds.

Elder’s Conduit

Pulling Rashok to the centre drains all his current energy, causing him to him to channel Scorching Heatwave.

Scorching Heatwave

When Rashok is trapped in the Elder’s Conduit, he attempts to break free causing pulses of shadowflame damage and causes players to gain the Scorched Flesh debuff.

Scorched Flesh

Every time a player is hit by Scorching Heatwave, they get a stack of this debuff causing them to take 2% more damage from other heatwave blasts. This effect stacks.

Shadowflame Fissure

When Rashok is trapped in the Elder’s Conduit, a fissure forms underneath him that deals deadly damage every second to players who stand in it.

Shattered Conduit

After the conduit drains Rashok’s energy twice, it explodes dealing heavy damage to everyone, becoming unusable.
